Marc Jacobs Quilted Cecilia Bag
A feminine muse? An ex-girlfriend? A sister? A mother? The clerk at 7-Eleven? Who are these women designers name their bags after? Who is Alyson? Or Cecilia? Being as it is that I live in France, the person I think of when I hear the name Cecilia is the French president’s ex-wife, Cecilia Sarkozy. Who knows? Maybe Cecilia Sarkozy would carry a bag like this, but I have to doubt it. This bag brings to mind Chanel, but there’s a little Metallica in it too. It looks rather compact on first look, but if you look at it from the side, it’s quite roomy. And, maybe it’s just me, but there is something slightly suggestively sexual about that view too. Being that I am a rather practical gal at heart, I like that this purse zips closed. My mom always told me to make sure my purse is securely closed, and I always think of that when shopping for a new bag. When I go to the Cannes Film Festival again this year at least I’ll be able to take this without worrying about prying fingers (it’s the most popular festival for thieves in France!). At $1,375, it’s not absurd, but it’s also not a bag I’m just going to pick up because I want to freshen up my wardrobe.
