It has a zippered pocket on the bottom which allows the base of the bag to expand. Two interior slot pockets are handy for holding your cell phone and IPOD among other things.  There is a roomy interior zippered pocket. The top handles are made long enough so you can use them on your shoulder as long as you are wearing a light jacket or sweater.  If you have a bulkier jacket on it won't be as comfortable on the shoulder.  It has a long handle that is adjustable and can easily be removed to create a whole new look as the bag folds over to half its size.
