Louis Vuitton Patchwork

I know this came out last year, but I had to go back and look at it again, just to make sure it’s as hideous as I remember. This absurd “tribute” bag from Louis Vuitton makes me almost embarrassed to carry my pretty little LV Ellipse bag. I love my Ellipse because it is sturdy, has beautiful lines, and goes with almost everything I own. But really, this stupid Tribute bag is dumbing down the LV brand- ATTENTION LV executives!!!! THIS TRIBUTE BAG DUMBS DOWN YOUR BRAND!!! And I don’t buy that they were being adventurous or really pushing the envelope. It’s just ugly and stupid- there’s nothing subjective about it. It’s just ugly and stupid. I defy you to find someone who doesn’t think this is an atrocity. If I saw this bag at Off Saks 5th Avenue marked down to say, $20, I wouldn’t touch it except to turn it over again and again, wondering, “what sociopath executive thought this was a good idea?” I mean producing a designer bag isn’t like slapping together a peanut butter sandwich; it took meetings and discussions and spreadsheets and email; didn’t ANYONE at Louis Vuitton say, “uh, pardon, mais ce sac est merde!” (translation: “uh excuse me, but this bag is shit!”)
Not to keep harping on it, but if someone gave me this bag for free AND offered me $50 to carry it for a week,  I would not. No I wouldn’t. And Louis Vuitton possibly owes all of us an apology for this bag.
